First created in 1853 from Dakota County.
County Seat is Saint Peter.
Cities, towns and communities include:  Klossner, New Sweden, Nicollet, North Mankato, Oshawa, St. George, Saint Peter and Traverse.

Nicolette County is located in south central Minnesota.  Neighboring Minnesota counties include:  Renville and Sibley counties to the north; Le Sueur county to the east; Blue Earth county to the southeast and south; and Brown county to the southwest and west.
