Martin County Communities

Baker Township encompasses a large portion of the Crane Naval Weapons Center in addition to a small corner of the Hoosier National Forest.  The Crane Naval Weapons Center extends into Baker, Brown and McCameron Townships, of Martin county, and the southern edge of Greene County.  Though the area is now within the Crane Navel Weapons Center, Mountain Springs P.O., an historical post office, was located near Sulphur Creek, in Baker Township.

McCameron Township communities include:  Burns City and Crane.  McCameron Township also encompasses a large portion of the Crane Naval Weapons Center, which also extends into Baker and Brown Townships, of Martin county, and the southern edge of Greene County.  A cemetery by the name of Blankenship appears in McCameron Township.  Though the area is now within the Crane Navel Weapons Center, it is likely the town of that name was historically located in/near the cemetery's location, at the McCameron and Brown Townships line.  Huffs appears to have been situated just east of Blankenship.  (See 1895 Map)
