The Quabbin Reservoir:
In the 1930s, to aid the water supply to western Massachusetts, the Quabbin
Reservoir was constructed. "...Four towns Dana, Enfield, Greenwich
and Prescott were wiped off the face of the Earth and seven other towns
were affected...", including Belchertown.
