Hancock County Communities

Blue River Township communities include:  Westland.  Westland Post Office (historical) was approximately located just south of Westland (see map).  Stringtown is at the Center and Jackson townships line, just north of Blue River Township.



Brandywine Township communities include:  Carrollton and Reedville Station (Finly).



Brown Township communities include: Nashville, Warrington, Wilkinson and Willow Branch.  Milners Corner is located on the Green and Brown townships line.  The town of Shirley is situated on the Brown township, Hancock County, and Greensboro township, Henry County, line.

Buck Creek Township communities include:  Mt. Comfort and Pleasant Acres.  The community of Mohawk is situated on the Buck Creek and Center Townships line.

Green Township communities include:  Eden.  The community of Cooper Corner is situated on the Center and Green townships line, and Milners Corner is located on the Green and Brown townships line.

Sugar Creek Township is located in western Hancock county, with Marion

 County at its western boundary.  Sugar Creek communities include:  Brookville Heights (near the northwestern edge of New Palestine), Carriage Estates, Gem, New Palestine, Philadelphia, and Spring LakeCumberland is located in Warren Township, Marion County, with a portion extending into Sugar Creek Township, Hancock County.

Vernon Township  is located in northwestern Hancock county, with Marion County at its western boundary, and Hamilton and Madison counties to the north.  Vernon communities include:  Colonial Village, Denny Corner, Eastgate, Fortville, Helmcrest, McCordsville and Woodbury.
