Carlton County, Minnesota
First created in 1857.
County Seat is Carlton.
Cities, towns and communities include:  Barnum, Carlton, Cloquet, Corona, Cromwell, Esko, Holyoke, Moose Lake, Nemadji, Sawyer and Wrenshall.

Carlton County is located in eastern Minnesota, with the state of Wisconsin at it's eastern boundary.  Neighboring Minnesota counties include:  St. Louis county to the north; Pine county to the south; and Aitkin county to the west.  The Wisconsin county of Douglas lies to the east.

Atkinson, Automba, Barnum, Beseman, Blackhoof, Eagle, Holyoke, Kalevala, Lakeview, Mahtowa, Moose Lake, Perch Lake, Silver, Silver Brook, Skelton, Split Rock, Thompson, Twin Lakes, and Wrenshall Townships.
