     The Health Department of Arkansas registers, files, stores, preserves and issues birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates in Arkansas.  There has been statewide registration of births and deaths since 1914, and marriages since 1917.  These would be requested from the Arkansas Department of Health.  All divorce records, and possibly existing marriage records prior to 1917, and may be requested from the county clerk of the county in which the event occurred.  Some earlier birth and death records may be located at the Arkansas History Commission.
