St. Pierre et Miquelon - Tourism Site (Phone: 1-800-565-5118) - brief chronology - Saint-Pierre and Miquelon is unique as they are the only french islands in the region.  Saint-Pierre is not only the name of the island, but it is also that of the largest town in the isles.  The largest of the islands, Miquelon, includes such sights as the "Notre Dame des Ardilliers" church which is made with masts of one of the wrecked ships.  Île Aux Marins "Sailor's Island" has Our Lady of Sailors wooden church.  Langlade Island island is tied to Miquelon by a  sand bar.
