Mission Statement

The principle purpose of the Gulf War Vets of Long Island, Inc is to collect and disseminate resources to individuals and organizations interested in providing support and assistance to those affected by the Persian Gulf War.

Gulf War Vets of Long Island, Inc was formed to provide support  for Desert Storm Vets who returned home suffering from Gulf War Syndrome, only to be told it was, "all in their head" or that "it doesn't exist".

My son was one of those who returned home from the Gulf and didn't know what was happening to him. I started checking here on Long Island to see if any other GWVets where having similar problems. I found there where many others going through the same scenario. I decided other Desert Storm Vets needed to know they where NOT alone. That is how this group came to be.  We stay informed and updated to the latest happening within the Gulf War Vets Community and help other GWVets by being there for them.

In my search, many Vietnam Vets contacted me. They helped guide and educate me to the many parallels with Agent Orange and the fight the Nam Vets had to go thru trying to get our government to admit to the many illnesses connected to being exposed to Agent Orange. One that is still ongoing to this day.

My heartfelt thanks to all those who supported and helped me along the way. And to ALL our Veterans out there:  WELCOME HOME!!
