Print Competitions

Entry Deadlines and Forms

Although the meeting itself starts at 7:30 PM, on competition nights the deadline for entering prints is 7:15 PM.

Members can enter a total of four images in all media with a maximum of three in any one category. See the Print Categories section below for the categories.

One print entry form must be completed and submitted for each print. Print entry forms are available for download in PDF format and Word format. Please print or computer type your title on the forms. Make sure you identify the "Top" of your matted photo and align your two entry forms so they are lined up properly with the orientation of the photo.

The maximum print size is 16 " X 20" matted. You can go smaller but not larger. Framed prints or prints with attachments that might damage other prints will not be accepted. The maker's name must not appear on the face of the mount or print.

If you are planning to use your mats over again and don't want to permanently glue them down, please make sure you use masking tape or some other non-permanent method to affix the photo to the mat and also close the mat around the photo. Winners are transported to the 6C's competition and if not properly affixed you could be penalized in their competition.

Print Categories

Each competition night will include a Print competition. Refer to the Club Calendar for the categories included on specific dates. The Print categories include the following:

Color A and B

There are two groups, A and B, for the Color category but the other categories are not divided. New members, regardless of their level of photographic experience, start in the Color B (Basic) group. The Color A (Advanced/Active) group is comprised of those who win sufficient points in competition. Membership in the Color A and B groups is determined annually. For 2009 it was based on total points for all media.

Print Winners on the Web Site

This web site includes small jpg files of images placing first, second, and third in each category if files are emailed to the web master in the correct format.

Instructions for formatting images for the web site is available for download in Word format.
