Central Coast Counties Camera Club Council

6C LogoEach Los Gatos - Saratoga Camera Club member is also a member of the Central Coast Counties Camera Club Council (abbreviated 6C or 6C's). The council sponsors bi-monthly competitions between clubs, an annual competition and banquet, honors for members actively participating in 6C and the member clubs, and a FotoClave conference (alternating on a biannual basis with other regional camera club councils).

The categories and dates of all 6C March, May, July, September, November, January competitions are on our club Calendar page. After each 6C competition the link on our Calendar page shows the 6C winners.

The 6C web site includes additional information about upcoming competitions, directions, guildelines, entry forms, and recent issues of the bi-monthly Council News newsletter.

At each bi-monthly 6C competition, each club can enter up to six Prints in each category. Entries placing first, second, third, and the first three HMs at our club will be submitted for challenge categories, including Monochrome. Since we have a Color competition each month (except September) entries placing first and second in Color A and first in Color B will be submitted to 6C’s.

Each club can also enter up to six "Projected Image" entries per category. These projected image totals includes both film slides and digital images even though the two media are shown and judged separately. Our club enters film slides and digital images placing first, second, and third for each challenge category. Since we have Color each month (except September), we ask the judge at each monthly competition to designate the best three (six in August) images for submission to 6C’s from the top Color film slide, Color A digital image, and Color B digital image winners. The judge can divide up his/her choices by media any way he/she deems appropriate to pick the best images.

The Interclub Competition form used to enter each category of the club's print and slide images and the separate form used for all digital submissions are available for download in PDF or Word format on the Meetings page of the 6C web site.

In addition to the winning prints, film slides, and digital images entered by our club, any member of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Camera Club who attends the 6C's competition can walk in one projected image (film slide or digital image) and one print for each competition category. Since the top four scores from each category are counted for each club, walk-ins help our club's totals for the projected image categories where the club can only enter three of less. The point totals are accumulated during the 6C competition year (March through January) and announced at the 6C annual banquet.

Print and slide walk-ins are entered at the competition. Digital walk-ins must be emailed to Steve Stark at stark.s@comcast.net (unless another member of the digital committee is listed on the Calendar) by the date listed on our club Calendar page so that he can submit them to Peter Schenk at 6c.council@gmail.com before noon on the Friday before the Saturday meeting.

Slides should be clearly labeled in ink or typed. The title, projection dot, and category must be included on the front. Your name and our club name must be on the back. Please do not abbreviate Los Gatos-Saratoga as L/S or LGS since those abbreviations are easily confused with L&S (Light & Shadow).

The Digital file names are the same as for our club competition except that 6C uses Pic (Pictorial) instead of CA or CB, Cre for Creative, Nat for Nature, and Trv for Travel and the Image Title in the filename is limited to 30 (or the first 30) characters. There are detailed instructions available on the Meetings page of the 6C web site.
