Day 1 -- from the Jungfraujoch down to Konkordiaplatz

In the morning at the Kleine Scheidegg railway station, the skies were clear in the middle elevations, but we could see lots of mist higher up.  Gi and Sharon and Ken took the train up to the Jungfraujoch, which indeed was in a cloud.  Carol, Craig, and Eric started later, and spent their first night at the Mönchsjochhütte.  They arrived at the Finsteraarhorn hut the next day.

After a wait, we started down in the mist, following some ski tracks.  Some careful skiing got us down below the clouds.  Then we could see way south down the Aletsch glacier, the longest glacier in Europe.

Day 1 -- views from the Finsteraarhorn hut

From Konkordiaplatz, Gi, Sharon and Ken climbed over the Grunhorn pass in the mist, and crossed the Fiescher glacier to the Finsteraarhorn hut.  In the evening, the mist cleared away.
