Joni Tatum

About Joni...

Joni was born in 1939 in Charlroi, Pennsylvania. She was the first child of Estelle (Bubnes) Bayorek and John Joseph Bayorek. She has one younger sister Patricia Bayorek.

Joni's family...

Joni was married to James William Tatum, and had two sons.

James Daniel (Brown) Tatum who is the product of her first marriage to Jim Brown (whose last known location was Truth-or-Consequences, New Mexico).

Her other son is John Benjamin Tatum, the only product of her second and final marriage to James William Tatum.

Joni's work...

Joni was a Critical Care Nurse who started out her career working in Labor and Delivery. She ended her career working in Neonatal Intensive care at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California as well as working private duty with critically ill and terminal patients in their homes.

Joni's interests...

Joni was very devoted to the love and care of children. Even after she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1987, she wanted to return to the care of children as soon as possible. As soon as her cancer surgery, radiation treatments, and chemothrerapy, she returned to her care of children by babysitting a number of children in her home.

Joni's likes...

She loved her home at 7761 East Northfield Avenue, Anaheim Hills, California 92807-2417. She loved her coppertone 1977 Datsun 280Z and it pained her greatly when she had to sell it so that she could keep her home when finances became tight toward the end of her life.

Dedication...

In memorial of my mother Joni Tatum, I dedicated An Apostolate of Our Lady to her. Her strong Catholic faith, and devotion to the Rosary make this quite appropriate.
