An auxiliary program doing business at Horizon

Mission

Valpo Martial Arts is dedicated to teaching the physical and mental discipline required to appreciate the martial arts.

What system is being taught at Valpo Martial Arts?

JuJitsu is considered the "mother art" from which many other styles are patterned. Judo, Karate, and Aikido are all derived from this system of combat. Consequently, when learning JuJitsu, a student will become proficient in a broad range of techniques, starting with fall downs, throws, holds, blocks, kicks, joint locks, and evasions. By teaching these basics,
students learn and progress quickly.

Teaching Philosophy
1. Honor and respect are essential assets for personal growth
2. Physical confrontation should be avoided whenever possible
3. Basic techniques are the foundation of future growth
