Why Me

Why me, this you may ask,
When illness strikes, the face of doom.
You look for causes, search for answers,
To try to understand, to help you cope.
Have I done what I was sent here to do,
Could my life have been more fulfilling?
Maybe just an inconvenient set back,
But the pain and the suffering that will come,
You must be strong and search for salvation.
Take each step one day at a time,
Ease yourself away from worry and stress.
What is meant to be will be,
No matter how you may struggle with the issue.
You have to relax, leave the negative behind,
Your body responds to the pressures you place.
Now is the time to set things straight,
Forgive others as you want to be forgiven.
Always continue to have hope,
Never give up.
When the time comes,
Have peace within your soul,
Accept today what yesterday caused.
No blame, no hate, no hard feelings,
Just a simple understanding,
What is meant to be will be.
