Mind Behind The Wheel

Not everyone you see driving today,
Has total concentration on where they are.
Their thoughts could be of work at the office,
Miles away, or to troubles at home.
Maybe not in the best of health,
Under mental stress or physical ills.
Behind the wheel some may find great power,
They use their cars to control the roads.
Their vehicles may be their means to escape,
From life, from troubles, or even from crimes.
People get behind their wheels,
For work, for shopping, for chores and more.
To some the road signs have no meaning,
No speed limits, no yielding, and no cautions to take.
The person that is driving next to you,
May even pass out or black out behind the wheel.
Their means of transportation may not be safe,
Bad breaks, bad steering, or even bad mechanics.
Not everyone driving the streets and highways,
May be aware of the powerful weapon they control.
Next time you get behind your wheel,
Remember your best defense is driving defensively.
