After True Love: Reality Check
It all seems like it could be no better,
Love in abundance, passions are extreme.
Each one of you does for the other,
Plans are made for mutual growth.
Then the wedding bells stop ringing,
Priorities shift from a couple to one.
Time no longer set aside to spend together,
You seem to forget the other one matters.
Companionship begins to become a chore,
Passions halt, the relationship strains.
No longer does your mate come first,
The list grows, things you no longer have in common.
TV seems more important than conversation,
The computer fills your hours, instead of your spouse.
Partnership in the home becomes only one's objective,
Household chores are no longer divided.
Yet you sit alone and wonder for hours,
What went wrong, how did the other one change.
We all grow, change with the times,
But we need not grow away from the one we love.
