Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- May 28, 2009   (Rating 7)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image lies in the same parent fractal that held yesterday's image.   But today, instead of checking the northwest shore line of the southernmost bay, we check the area around a small bud on the west shore line of the middle bay.

What we find there is of mild to moderate interest, a scene which, in my opinion, rates a 7.   I named the image "Fiery and Furious", but even though it's a rather fiery scene, I can find nothing very furious in it.

The calculation time of 2-1/2 minutes will pass in the blink of an eye, which is probably around 1/25 of a second.   This means that around 3,750 eye blinks will be required to finish the calculation.   With this many blinks in mind, I recommend going to the FOTD web site at:and saving those blinks by viewing the already-finished image posted there.

The rain ended and the temperature rose to a more seasonal 64F 18C here at Fractal Central on Wednesday.   But the heavy low clouds hung tough and the fractal cats showed their displeasure.   As for work, I finished it in half a day.   FL spent a good part of the day working in the garden.

The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and be of sound mind and light body.
