Fractal of the Day
by Jim Muth
FOTD -- February 27, 2009 (No Rating)
Fractal visionaries and
enthusiasts:
With the work still piled up, there's little time for
fractals. So let's get right to today's image.
The scene lies on the main spike of the fractal that results when
0.6 part of Z^(-5.6) is subtracted from 6 parts of Z^(-1.6) and (1/C) is added. I'll not even try to describe this parent fractal, but it can be seen easily enough by redoing today's image at a
magnitude of 0.3 and turning off the
logmap.
Since
I put only a couple minutes into the image, I gave it no rating. The name
"Rings Around Mandy" has little significance. And the very fast
calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes will cause no one any difficulty.
An even simpler way to see the image is to go to the FOTD web site at:
where it is posted in completed form.
A veil of clouds that dimmed the sun did not dim the
fractal cats' spirits here at
Fractal Central on Thursday, as the temperature of 50F 10C made up for the weak sun. My day was very busy. I guess I should be thankful, but I would rather have had things a bit quieter. I'll post the next FOTD in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and if you can't be positively negative, be negatively positive.
