FOTD -- January 16, 2009   (Rating 5)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Another too-busy day on Thursday left too little time for a full fractal search.   I had to settle for a hasty scene in the Hyper-Mandelbrot set.

The image I found is another picture of a minibrot in trouble.   This minibrot is located close to the northwest shore line of the main bay of the four-dimensional Hypercomplex Mandelbrot set, which consists basically of two overlapping Mandelbrot sets.

The image rates a 5.   The name "Never-Ever Land" is a whim of the moment.

The calculation time of just under 5 minutes can be avoided by viewing the already-calculated image on the FOTD web site at:
The partly cloudy skies and temperature of 18F -3C at Fractal Central on Thursday were too harsh for the fractal cats, who spent most of the day by the heat, while I spent most of my time getting the real work out of the way.

The next FOTD is due to be posted in 24 hours, and if all goes well, it actually might be posted on schedule.   Until next time, take care, and be of cool demeanor.
