Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- December 02, 2008 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today we have another fractal from nowhere to pause and stare at in awe and wonder. It's another Julia set of nothing. It is not an 'evaporated' fractal because nothing was ever there to be evaporated. It's simply a blank screen made manifest to the senses by the 'bof60' inside fill, the inside fill that works best with this particular nothing. (All 'nothings' are not the same.) I named the image "Tooth of the Tiger" to give it a Kung-Fu martial arts feeling. With too little time to do adequate work on the coloring, I rated it at a mediocre 7.5. More coloring work on the 64 or so colors that actually appear in the image might have raised the rating to an 8. The calculation time of XX seconds is faster than light, which means the calculation finishes 8 seconds before it is started. Another very fast way to view the image is to surf out to the FOTD web site at:where the finished image is posted for instant satisfaction. Overcast skies, occasional rain showers and a temperature of 43F 6C made the Monday weather less than ideal here at Fractal Central. With one lamp knocked over and a cup of coffee spilled, the fractal cats' behavior was also less than ideal, so I guess things were pretty much the same everywhere.
