FOTD -- November 27, 2008   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Due to a holiday work rush, today's image is a near repeat, simply a small outzoom and slight perturbation of yesterday's.   I gave it no rating, though I did name it "Outward Bound".

The image is a scene in the 4-D hypercomplex Mandelbrot set.   There is really very little I can say about the image, since I know very little about it.   It's still a total mystery how such infinitesimal changes in parameters can make such great changes in the image.

The calculation time of 7 minutes is reasonable.   Going to the FOTD web site and viewing the finished image there is even more reasonable.   The web site may be accessed at:

Lots of clouds and a temperature of 37F 3C made tha fractal cats unhappy here at Fractal Central on Wednesday.   Lots of work and too little time made me unhappy.   The next FOTD is due in 24 hours.   Wait for it with bated but not abated breath.   Until then, take care, and see you around the fractal town.
