Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- November 22, 2008   (Not Rated)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is a Julia set of a totally evaporated image, made visible by the 'bof60' inside fill.   (I think this is the first time I have checked the Julia aspect of an evaporated fractal.)   Today's image isn't much, but I have the impression that I have just scratched the surface of what lies in this area.   The days to come will feature further adventures in the nowhere.

Having given so little time to the image, I could not give it an honest rating.   The name "Julia Etal" refers out the generic nature of the scene.

Perhaps the best feature of the image is its very brief calculation time of 1-1/3 minutes.   And it could be even faster to surf to the FOTD web site and view the finished image there.   The web site may be accessed at:

Friday dawned with 4 inches 10cm of fluffy snow decorating the ground and trees here at Fractal Central, with the temperature a relatively mild 30F -1C.   The rest of the day was cloudy with occasional light snow and a temperature no higher than 34F 1C.   The fractal cats didn't mind the snow, but they complained about the lack of sun.

My day was quite busy with work and preparations for tomorrow's trip.   There will probably be no FOTD for Nov. 23.   I'm going down to Old Fractal Central early on Saturday to spend the day decorating, and don't expect to return until near midnight.   Until the next FOTD appears, either in one or two days, take care and prevail.
