Fractal of the Day

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: As I studied today's image, I fancied myself sitting in the balcony of a celestial movie theater, viewing the fractal show being projected on the screen. I named the image "Theater of the Mind" because that's exactly what it is. The rating of a 7.5 might have been a point higher if I had not used variations of this same rectangle so often in previous FOTD's. The brilliant rectangle in the center is nothing other than a variation of our old friend the rectangle that lies in a Julia set of the East Valley area of the large fractured minibrot on the infinitely divided mail spike of the Z^(2.003)+C Mandeloid. In today's variation the minute value entered into the imag(p5) parameter has shrunk the rectangle almost to the point of invisibility. The slightest increase in this parameter will make the rectangle go away totally. The calculation time of 1-1/3 minutes should cause the average fractalist little if any inconvenience. The exceptional fractalist may wish to take the trip to the FOTD web site at: With lots of sun and a temperature of 81F 27C, Sunday was pleasant enough here at Fractal Central -- until 6pm that is, when the clouds started gathering. No rain ever fell, but thunder rumbled ominously in the north for an hour. The fractal cats ignored the weather and concentrated instead on a fly in the kitchen window. The fly eventually disappeared. My day was uneventful, which is acceptable. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and unlike everything else, fractals are forever.
