FOTD -- July 09, 2008   (Rating 8)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's fractal mixes features of the Z512+C Mandeloid with features of East Valley of the Mandelbrot set.   The order-512 minibrot fills the frame like a black hole gobbling up its surroundings.   In fact, it reminds me so much of a black hole that I named the image "Fractal Black Hole".

I rated the image at an 8.   The smooth blending of the outer Mandelbrot set features with the perfect order-512 minibrot in the center is unusual enough to earn such a high rating.

The calculation time of 5 minutes is slightly slow, but nothing that a modern S.O.T.A. fireball machine cannot handle.

And to be doubly sure that all is under control, the image has been posted already calculated to the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Lots of heat and humidity made it feel like real midsummer here at Fractal Central on Tuesday.   When the temperature reached 90F 32C the fractal cats retired to the coolest spot they could find.   When the work was finished for the day, I retired to the kitchen for the coolest drink I could find.   The next FOTD, hopefully a cool one, will be posted in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and if not even light can escape from a black hole, how can the gravity get out unless it moves faster than light?   (Which I hear is impossible.)
