FOTD -- June 05, 2008   (Rating -- No Way!)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's FOTD is a living corpse.   Due to a pile of rush work, I had no time to do a reasonable FOTD.

The image should have been discarded along with the day's discussion.   But, undecided as to what to do with the fractal, I flipped a coin and it came up heads, so I posted the image and took about 5 minutes to write these few words.

What is there to say about an image such as today's, which is nothing more than a mass of angular color patches splashed on the screen.   The two heptagonal shapes near the center are actually 7-sided holes brought to life by the 'zmag' inside fill.   The name "Two of a Kind" refers to these two heptagons.

I must admit that the calculation time of 9-1/3 minutes for such a junky image is a real rip-off.   Avoid being rooked by viewing the finished image on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

One thing for sure is that I don't hesitate to attack my own work when I think it falls short.

Heavy clouds in the morning led to over 2 inches, 56mm, of rain in the afternoon here at Fractal Central on Wednesday, while the temperature hung around a very muggy 72F 22C.   The fractal cats made the best of the wet conditions.

As today's ho-hum fractal shows, my day was very busy.   But things should be slower by tomorrow, and the next fractal will most likely be a vast improvement.   Until then, take care, and keep trying.
