FOTD -- April 13, 2008   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is named "Minibrot", and that's all it is.   After spending the entire afternoon clearing the winter debris from the yard, I had almost no time for a proper fractal search.   So I took the first minibrot I could find in the Z^(1.75)+C Mandeloid as it appears 6 levels up the logarithmic ladder when the cosine function is applied, and declared it Fractal of the Day for April 13.

The parent fractal is a distortion of the classic Mandelbrot set, with today's scene located in its Seahorse Valley area.   With no effort involved in its creation, the image could not be given a rating.

The calculation time of 4-3/4 minutes is within reason.   But it is equally reasonable to completely avoid the effort of calculation and view the finished image on the FOTD web site at:

Saturday was the best day so far this spring here at Fractal Central.   A heavy thunder-shower around 5am cleared out the murk, and by 9am the day was sunny with a temperature of 68F 20C.   Things got even better in the afternoon when it reached 73F 23F.   The fractal cats watched from the back window with amusement as I started work in the yard.   The next FOTD is due, and will likely appear, in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and don't waste energy on a heroic but futile effort to create true meaning in a meaningless universe.   This is what born-again skeptics and Atheists do, and I have never yet seen one succeed.   But above all else, think positive.
