FOTD -- February 21, 2008   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Since I'm still a bit under the weather, the discussion will once again be brief.   The most unusual feature about today's image is its magnitude of 2*(1013), which is beyond the point where definition begins to break down.   But the image has such a soft overall feeling that the slight jaggedness is barely noticeable.

Since I put very little effort into the image, I could not give it a fair rating, but I did name it "Further Exploration", since it is a trip much deeper into a fractal that closely resembles the parent of yesterday's image.

A infinitesimal minibrot does lie at the center, but it is well beyond the range of conventional math.   The calculation time of just under 3 minutes will try the patience of no one.

And finally, the finished image is available for viewing on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

A sunny but chilly morning on Wednesday here at Fractal Central was followed by a cloudy afternoon with a temperature of freezing, and light evening snow.   The fractal cats slept most of the day.   The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and give a fractal at least a ghost of a chance.
