Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- December 30, 2007   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's very late and super hurried image is a half-evaporated scene in the parent fractal that is created by mixing various negative portions of Z^(-1.1) and Z^(-5.9).   The new inside parts that have appeared are rendered with the 'zmag' inside fill, which adds the fine diagonal striations to the image.

The parent fractal features one of the most convoluted main bays I have yet seen in a fractal.   Today's scene is located near the north shore of the cove on the northwest shore of the bay.

I gave today's image neither a name nor a rating.   The calculation time of 2-1/3 minutes can be avoided by viewing the finished image on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Saturday proved to be a very pleasant day, and the fractal cats agreed.   The next FOTD fractal will appear in about 7 hours.   Until then, take care, and fractal things are never simple.
