Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- November 29, 2007   (Rating 6)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image lies in the parent fractal that is generated when 4 negative parts of Z^(-1.2) are combined with 1 negative part of Z^(-4.8), and (1/C) is added.   This parent consists of the typical large round bays with filaments extending from the buds and terminating in rings.   Today's scene lies on one of these filaments near the point where it reaches a terminal ring.

The name "Curly Evaporation" indicates that the scene is an evaporated one with the resulting expanse of 'inside' stuff brought to life by the 'bof61' inside fill.   The colors are a bit too muddy to add to the rating, but the image is still worth a look.

The calculation time of 2-3/4 minutes means that it will not take too much effort to run the included parameter file, but if for some reason running parameter files is impractical, the completed image may be viewed on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Bright sun and chilly temperatures around 39F +4C prevailed here at Fractal Central on Wednesday.   The fractal cats made the best of things by sleeping most of the day.

My department was busier than expected, but still under control.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and have reasonable faith in reason.
