FOTD -- November 14, 2007   (Rating 7.5)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image lies in the Z^(EPSILON)+C Mandeloid, sometimes known as the Zexpe fractal.   But today, instead of concentrating on the ground level, we examine the Zexpe at a height 4 levels up the logarithmic ladder, where it is shaped roughly like a Mandelbrot set rotated so that its west side is facing southeast.   Today's scene is located in a tiny valley in a bud on the northeast shore of the main bay of this parent fractal.

Only my modesty prevents me from admitting that most of the effect of the image is due to my coloring efforts.   The extra half-point in the rating of 7-1/2 recognizes this effort.   The name "Zexpe at Large" can mean whatever the individual fractal viewer wants it to.   The magnitude of the image is 2*(1013), large enough to make the mathtolerance entry necessary in the included parameter file.

The calculation time of under 2 minutes on the fast machine would stretch to about 7 minutes on the slow unit.   But even this small bit of time may be saved by visiting the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
and viewing the finished image there.

Tuesday dawned rainy here at Fractal Central, but the rain ended by 8:00am, leaving behind heavy clouds and a light fog.   Then, just before noon, a breeze sprang up, clearing the clouds and fog almost by magic.   The afternoon was sunny and quite mild, with a high temperature of 61F 16C.   The fractal cats observed all this with passing interest.   The squirrels foraging in the back yard were far more interesting to the cats.

My day was fairly busy, though still well under control.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours, give or take a few.   Until then, take care of your fractals, for perhaps they are mere delusions that are common to many people.
