Fractal of the Day

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: There is not much to be said about today's image, which is pretty much a standard scene deep on a filament in the eastern suburbs of the large minibrot on the main spike of the Mandelbrot set. I named the image "Ordinary Diversion" because fractals in general are a great diversion from the problems of life, while today's fractal, at least, is notably ordinary. After I chose the name, I pondered the rating for all of 25 seconds before giving the image a rating of a 6, which is a little above average, though a rating of 5-1/2 might have been more appropriate. The calculation time of 4-1/2 minutes is reasonable considering that the magnitude is well into the range of arbitrary precision math. The most convenient way to see the image, as always, is to go online to the FOTD web site at: Sunday featured sunny skies and somewhat chilly temperatures here at Fractal Central. The fractal cats approved of the high of 45F 7C . . . from the inside of the window, that is, while I approved of the peaceful day. With any luck at all, tomorrow will again be calm.
