Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- July 30, 2007   (Rating 7)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

In today's image we mix various portions of Z^(-1.05) and Z^(-5.05), then add (1/C).   The parent fractal created by this formula is a grossly oversized thing -- a Mandeloid festooned with decorative rings -- a fractal that cries out for further exploration.   Today's image is located inside one of the rings.

I named the image "An Endless Loop".   The circular arcs must have inspired the name.   Then I rated it at a 7, which is the rating where satisfaction begins.

The calculation time of 7-1/2 minutes is within reason.   Viewing the image on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
is also reasonable.

Sunday was cloudy and humid here at Fractal Central, with a short but heavy thunder-shower in the afternoon.   The temperature reached a high of 82F 26C right before the rain arrived.   The fractal cats didn't mind the rain, but they were very annoyed when their supper was late.

My day was slow and lazy, which explains the short discussion.   My excuse is laziness.   If I can shake this lazy spell, the next FOTD will appear on schedule, and it will be a good one.   I'm going to do further exploration in the parent fractal of today's image.   Until next time, take care, and if one went back in time and killed his earlier self, would he be guilty of homicide or suicide?
