FOTD -- June 23, 2007   (Not Rated)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

I was away at Old Fractal Central all day Friday, which explains the insignificant and hurried fractal for today.   The image, if that's what it might be called, lies in the parent fractal that results when the formula Z^(sqrt(2))+C is calculated 123 levels down the logarithmic ladder.

I named the image "Almost a Minibrot" because the little midget in the center looks surprisingly like a quadratic midget, even though its formula uses the square root of 2 rather than the number 2 itself.   I gave the result no rating.

The calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes is about all the time the image deserves.   The best way to view the finished image is to visit the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
where it is posted.

The weather was perfect all the way from New Fractal Central to Old Fractal Central and back on Friday.   The old fractal cats were pleased to see me.   They must have thought I had abandoned them forever.   The new fractal cats, having missed their regular treat, were a bit sulky when I returned.   But a later-than-usual treat eased their moods.

The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and make that big decision with confidence.
