Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- June 14, 2007   (Rating 4)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Due to technical difficulties, today's discussion is short.   The image is yet another scene in the parent fractal that produced the 'Fractal Ringers' image of 6 days ago.   This time I chose to examine the area around the negative X-axis.

Most of the excitement is created by the 'fmod' inside fill.   This was needed because everything in the image but the green elements is part of the 'inside' of the fractal.

The rating of a 4 is below average, but what the heck, a 4-rated image is better than none at all.   The name "The Sea of Flames" is total whimsy.

The image takes 1-1/2 minutes to finish on the P2000.   On the P200 it would take around 7 minutes.

But on the FOTD web site the image has already been calculated, and is ready for near instant viewing.   The FOTD web site can be found at:

Another whopper of a thunder-storm hit Fractal Central at 3pm Wednesday.   This time it caused a 3-hour power outage, which put me behind in the commercial work, forcing me to cut corners on today's FOTD.   The fractal cats were not bothered by the lack of power, since it happened in the middle of the day and did not affect their evening treats.

If all goes well, the next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and have faith that all will go well.
