Fractal of the Day

FOTD for April 01, 2007 ©
Jim Muth's fractal image in GIF format (640x480).

FOTD -- April 01, 2007   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image came about when I combined 5 negative parts of Z^(-1.25) with 1/5 negative part of Z^(-6.67) and added (1/C).   This combination creates a grossly oversized parent fractal with a very prominent 'fan'.   Today's scene is located on the eastern edge of this fan.

I gave the image no name and no rating, but it's really not such a bad image, even though its calculation takes 9-1/2 minutes to complete.

Perhaps the best way to enjoy today's fractal is to go to the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
where the finished GIF image has been posted or soon will be posted for maximum enjoyment.

On the surface, the parent fractal of today's image appears unusually rich.   It might have a few more FOTD's in it.   I'll probably return to it a few more times before casting it into the fractal dumpster.

The weather was uneventful here at Fractal Central on Saturday.   The sky was partly cloudy, while the temperature reached a high of 59F 15C.   The fractal cats, who sometimes are minor demons, were on their best behavior.   But I am not deceived.   Such angelic deportment can not possibly last long.

My day was still busy, wrapping up the loose ends of the rush.   By Monday the rush will be behind me, and I'll be able to move on to other things such as more advanced fractals.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and perhaps existence itself is the greatest paradox.
