FOTD -- March 12, 2007   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's brilliant but otherwise unexceptional image lies in the parent fractal that comes into being when equal portions of Z^(1.5) and Z^(3.5) are combined and C is added.

This parent fractal resembles a plump caterpillar crawling southward.   Today's image is located on the northwest shoreline of the main open area of its parent, which corresponds to the caterpillar's plump abdominal section.

Since the fractal is unexceptional, I gave it no name and no rating.   The brilliant colors can carry the humdrum image only so far.

The calculation time of 7-1/3 minutes is a bit on the slow side for an image of today's worth.   But instant relief is available on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
where the completed image is or soon will be posted, ready for semi-awe-struck viewing.

A bright and slightly chilly day here at Fractal Central on Sunday brought the fractal cats to the window, where they enjoyed the sunlight for several hours.   The outside temperature of 48F 9C left the comfortably resting cats unconcerned.

My day was busy, but I have seen far worse days.   It still looks like the next FOTD will appear in 24 hours as scheduled.   Until then, take care, and be at ease among the countless horde of fractals.
