Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- February 16, 2007   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

To create today's image I took some Z^(-3) and subtracted half as much Z^(-4) from it.   With very little time to spare, I'll not try to describe the parent fractal, which really must be seen to be appreciated.   But I will say that today's image is located just off the negative X-axis.

Having found only 5 spare minutes to spend on today's fractal, I gave the image neither name nor rating.   But with a supersonic calculation time of under one minute, not much effort will have been wasted if the humdrum image fails to be worth the work.

And as is always the case, the finished image is or soon will be posted to the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Ice and bitter cold temperatures kept both man and cats solidly ensconced indoors here at Fractal Central on Friday.   The man was very busy; the cats, who never go out anyway, were happy by the heat.   Today looks to be a repeat.

To try to get ahead in the non-fractal work, I will post no FOTD on Feb. 17.   If all goes well, the next FOTD will appear on Feb. 18.   As always, I give no guarantee.   Until next time, take care, and be on your best behavior.   A fractal may be watching.
