FOTD -- January 30, 2007   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's fractal came to be when I subtracted 0.2 parts of Z^(-7) from 0.2 parts of Z^(3), then added (1/C).

The unusual effect was achieved by calculating the image with the 'inside' set to 'fmod' with a proximity factor of 1.3, and the 'outside' set to the conventional equal-iteration-bands coloring method.

I gave the image no name or rating.   The calculation time of 5-1/2 minutes is short enough to make the job of rendering the image a fractal snap.   Even more snappy is the way the image is posted on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
where it may be easily viewed.

Partly cloudy skies, biting winds, occasional flurries of snow, and a high temperature of 25F -4C kept all cats of the fractal variety well contained on Monday.   The duo passed the day seeking warmth and food.

My day was once again unusually busy.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours or somewhere in that general time zone.   Until then, take care, and get in there with the big-time fractal thinkers.
