FOTD -- January 19, 2007   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image has neither name nor rating.   It deserves none.   Once again I was too busy to give the FOTD the attention it deserves.   And from the looks of things, the work will remain very heavy through a good part of next week.

The parent fractal was generated when I combined 1.46 parts of Z^(0.64) with 0.79 part of Z2 and added C.   This parent is a twisted Mandelbrot set surrounded by a large field of chaos filled with holes of various shapes and sizes.   Today's scene is located on the northwest shore line of the main bay of the M-set, where Seahorse Valley begins.

The overall effect of the image is one of stress and tearing.   The random color palette with its very narrow bands emphasizes the effect.   The render time of 5-3/4 minutes is within reason, but those with over-qualified computers may still choose to view the image on the FOTD web site which may be accessed at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

If the image is not yet posted when you check the web site, try again in an hour or so.   It takes a few minutes to update the site.

Partly cloudy skies, brisk winds, and a temperature that rose only to 34F 1C made things rather nippy here at Fractal Central on Thursday.   The fractal cats did not concern themselves with outside weather however.   They spent most of the day chasing each other up and down the hallway.   The big excitement came when Cassie squeezed behind a row of books and knocked several onto the floor.

My day was unexpectedly busy.   The next FOTD will likely appear on schedule in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, search for meaning, and don't stop until you find it.
