FOTD -- November 09, 2006   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's curious image is of a midget in the Z^(1.1)+C Mandeloid as it appears 111 levels up the logarithmic ladder.   Midgets are hard to find in Mandeloids of such a low order, but the 'fmod' outside option is a lot of help.

I named today's image "Into the Tunnel".   The tunnel might well be the one a fractalist enters as he leaves this world.   Since there is supposed to be a bright light at the end of this type of tunnel, I colored the central midget a bright white.

I gave the image no rating.   I found too little time to give the coloring the attention it deserves.   As a result, there is a kind of muddiness that detracts from the effect of light at the end of the tunnel.

The render time of 6-1/2 minutes is within reason, but still a bit slow for the more casual fractalist.   The fastest way to see the tunnel is to go to the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
and view the image there.

Morning rain gave way to afternoon clouds here at Fractal Central on Wednesday, while the temperature hovered around 52F 11C.   The fractal cats had nothing to say about the conditions.   With me, the work was still quite heavy, but I managed to find time for today's image.   And my bum leg is showing the first hints of improvement, so there may indeed be light at the end of the tunnel.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and walk serenely.
