Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- October 30, 2006   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image takes us to the fractal that results when Z^(-6.67) is subtracted from Z^(-1.667) and (1/C) is added.   To add to the interest I reduced the escape radius to 44, which makes the outside parts solid, and rendered the scene with the outside set to 'tdis'.

The resulting image falls short of FOTD standards, so I gave it no rating.   The name "FOTDette for Today" needs no explanation.   The 5-minute render time will try the patience of very few.   The completed image is posted for easy viewing on the FOTD web site at:

The cloudy, blustery and chilly weather continued here at Fractal Central on Sunday, with a high temperature of only 46F 8C.   The fractal cats spent the day surprisingly peacefully.   Maybe they feel guilt about my bum ankle.   With me, it's still the bunny-hop, with the addition of a few upper-body sore muscles due to the unusual exertion of supporting my weight with my arms and hands, on the walker.   If all goes well, and why should it not, the next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and watch for cats who don't put away their toys.
