FOTD -- October 25, 2006   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Well, here it is.   One of my fractal goals over the past several months has been to find a midget in a Mandeloid of an order less than 1.1.   On Tuesday I finally found one -- for all it is worth.   It popped up by accident, almost without a search.   My great? discovery appears as the FOTD image for today.

I found the midget 800 levels up the logarithmic ladder of the Z^(1.09)+C Mandeloid.   Not surprisingly, the midget is shaped pretty much the same as its parent.   I named the image "FOTD-ette Number-3" but gave it no rating.   How could I rate something as insignificant as an oval-shaped midget surrounded by a cloud of meaningless chaos?

The image calculates in 4-1/2 minutes on my 10-year-old machine.   It also may be viewed on the FOTD web site at:

The cloudy chilly and windy weather with a temperature of 43F 6C here at New Fractal Central on Tuesday did not worry the fractal cats, who do not worry about the outside weather.   They passed the day in a frisky mood, chasing each other up and down the hallway.   With me, the work continues quite heavy and the time for fractals continues quite light.   The next fractal will appear in 24 or so hours.   Until then, take care, and see the fractal light.
