FOTD -- August 11, 2006   (Rating 4)

Fractal Visionaries and Enthusiasts:

Today's FOTD could be dated either the 10th or the 11th.   If it is the 10th, it is very late; if it is the 11th, it is quite early.   Due to a huge load of work, which will keep us busy until Tuesday, this irregular FOTD schedule will prevail for about 5 more days.   Until then, expect only very simple and fast images, and few words, if anything at all.

Today's image for example, is an 'evaporated' scene in the fractal that results when various negative portions of Z^(-1.4) and Z^(-7) are combined, and (1/C) is added.

I gave the image a rating of 4, and no name.   It deserves no name.   Its likes have been seen too many times in past FOTD images.   The render time of 4-3/4 minutes is true on the oldest machine in my possession, a P133.   The P200 is busy on a long-term fractal.

The weather today here at Fractal Central is cloudy and humid, with rain threatening. The fractal cats are in a sulky mood.   Apparently we have been giving them far too little attention this morning.   The next FOTD will appear soon.   But with things so hectic, I am not ready to make any promises when.   Until the next time, take care, and do it right with a fractal.
