Fractal of the Day

Jim Muth's fractal image in GIF format (640x480).

FOTD -- July 06, 2006   (Rating 6)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Due to some unexpected work, today's discussion will be brief.

Today's image is a scene in the oversized fractal that results when various negative portions of Z^(-1.15) and Z^(-11.5) are combined and (1/C) is added.   After consideration, I rated it at a 6.   I gave it no name other than its date of appearance.

The render time of over 38 minutes on my 11-year-old fractal machine is admittedly slow.   Relief is available on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
where the completed GIF image has been posted ready for download.

The weather continued summer-like here at New Fractal Central on Wednesday, while the new fractal cats played like kittens.   The next FOTD is scheduled to appear in 24 hours.   If all goes well, it actually will.   Until then, take care, and fractals just might last forever.
