FOTD -- June 12, 2006   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's quickie fractal will hopefully be one of the last boring quickies.   Things really are getting back to normal here at New Fractal Central, though slowly, and every day brings us closer to the time when the FOTD returns to its former daily schedule, with classy names and value ratings for every fractal image.

Today's image is a scene in the fractal that results when Z^(-1.1) is subtracted from Z^(-2.2) and (1/C) is added.   Most of the image consists of inside stuff made visible by the 'bof60' inside fill.   As has been the case for a frustratingly long time, I gave the image no name or rating.   It seems unfair to rate a fractal that took a mere 5 minutes to find, and a brief 19 minutes to render.

It also seems unfair to expect fractalists who enjoy cutting edge images to spend 19 minutes calculating a fractal that might have been produced by a raw fractal newbie.   To ease the discomfort, the finished image is posted on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

The weather was near perfect on Sunday here at New Fractal Central.   The new fractal cats are rapidly adjusting to their new lives as fractal cats.   Surprisingly, it looks like the little lady might be top cat.   It will be a while yet before we let them venture outside, but they will probably reveal their names within a day or so.

I'll try to post the next FOTD in 2 days.   Until then, take care, and wait with fingers crossed.
