Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- April 14, 2006   (No Rating)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

With today's image we leave the MandelbrotMix4 formula and switch to the MandelbrotBC2 formula.   We check the Z^(2.1)+C fractal as it appears 10 levels up the logarithmic ladder.   The inconsequential scene we find there, which appears as today's FOTD, earns neither name nor rating.

The render time of over 33 minutes is true on my 10-year-old machine.   The parameter file will run faster on more modern units, at least on those that can actually run it.   For good measure, the finished image is available on the FOTD web site at:

Continued perfect weather made for near perfect cats here at Old Fractal Central on Thursday.   Too many things needing to be done made for a very busy day for me.   Unless something goes wrong, the next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and be stoic.
