Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- March 20, 2006   (Rating 6)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's rather un-glorious fractal is the Julia set of what appears to be the Seahorse Valley area of the Z^(sqrt(2))+C Mandeloid as it appears at level minus-PI of the logarithmic spiral.

The details of the fractal are of a Seahorse Valley nature, with the expected thick bulky spiral arms, but the overall shape is totally different.

After careful consideration, I rated the image at a 6.   After a little more consideration I decided not to name it.   The render time of a couple minutes may be avoided by downloading the finished GIF image from the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

On Sunday the fractal cats' outdoor time was limited once again by the chilly winds here at Old Fractal Central.   Luckily, the evening tuna treat eased their displeasure.

I actually managed to do almost nothing of value all day, which is the proper way to live at least a small part of one's life.   The next FOTD is due in 24 hours.   It might appear; it might not.   Check back here in 24 hours to find out.
