Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

I really enjoy fractal trees, and today's image is a fine example of a fractal tree.   Actually, the image shows part of a 'figure 8' Julia set of the Z^(1.5)+C Mandeloid as it appears PI levels *down* the log ladder.

The same image could be calculated in a little over half the time by the 'JuliaMiN' formula, since setting the p2 parameter of the JuliaBC formula to minus-PI is the same as calculating (-Z)^(1.5)+C, which is what the JuliaMiN formula does.   But under 4 minutes is not too unreasonable a time to wait for a tree to grow, so I let the JuliaBC formula do the job.

As has been the case so often recently, I gave the image no name and no rating.   If I had named and rated it, I would have chosen a name something like "Monkey Puzzle Tree" and a rating around 6.   These fractal trees are far too plentiful and far too easily found to rate much higher.

A partly cloudy chilly day with the threat of rain or snow kept the fractal cats safely indoors all day Monday here at Old Fractal Central.   A bit of extra tuna kept them happy.   My day was continued busy, but somehow we managed to keep things under control.   Unless something unexpected happens, the next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and what ever happened to rock-solid reality?
