FOTD -- March 02, 2006   (Not Rated)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's fractal is a Julia set of the Z^(1.5)+C Mandeloid as it appears 100 levels up the logarithmic ladder.   The corresponding point of the Mandeloid is located in the southern branch of a seahorse-type valley curiously located at +0.75 on the X-axis.

As has so often been the case lately, I gave the image neither name nor rating.   Luckily, the render time is a very brief 1-1/2 minutes even on my slow old machine.   On speedier units the image will calculate in well under one minute, about the time it will take to download the completed image from the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

The brilliant sun and temperature of 50F 10C here at Old Fractal Central on Wednesday were just what the dynamic cat duo had been waiting for.   They spent the entire afternoon lurking in the holly patch, even going so far as to chatter at the robins that stopped by to feast on the few remaining holly berries.   At one time the duo would have scampered up the trees after the birds, but those days are long gone.

My day was very busy, and tomorrow will likely be a repeat.   The next FOTD will appear almost by magic in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and don't get caught by a phisherman.
