FOTD -- February 17, 2006   (Unrated)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

The work is once again piling up, and once again it will be necessary to take a short break in the FOTD.   As a result, the next FOTD will appear on Tuesday, February 21.   Today's image is a scene in the fractal that results when various portions of Z^(-1.4) and Z^(-7.7) are combined, and (1/C) is added.

Having put almost no effort into the image, I gave it no name and no rating.   The render time of 12 minutes is a bit slow, but this slight delay may be avoided by downloading the completed GIF file from the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Warm sun, gentle breezes and a temperature of 66F 19C were just what the fractal cats ordered on Thursday.   But the yard is still covered by wet, half-melted snow, and by deep mud where the snow has melted.   The cats went onto the porch to enjoy the sun, which is just skimming the tops of the holly trees.   After checking the ground with their sensitive paws, they decided not to venture farther.   My day was unacceptably busy, so busy in fact that I must take several days off of the FOTD to get caught up.   But have no fear.   The next FOTD will appear in four days on Tuesday, February 21.   Until then, take care, and something is nigh.   I just have not yet found out what.
